How are scissors for hairdressing made?

The hair scissors are made of two blades, which rotate around a fixed pivot and thanks to the mechanical exerted on the handle.
The effectiveness of the cut is determined by the contact of the blades more than by sharpening them. Scissors are made of steel 440C the same used for the construction of surgical instruments.

Are There any left-handed scissors?

The use of scissors is a problem for left-handed people as the tool is not symmetric, even if it were the handle, this is not for the blade. Turning the instrument 180 degrees, the lower blade (which becomes the top) obscure the sight line of cut. (or symmetric or level) is the basic range.


Offset Handle

(blurred or asymmetric) is a new design for the designers who use the ring finger to hold the scissors. "Offset" allows a open hand position. The thumb grip reduces the excessive extension of the thumb. This design allows to cut with a more open hand.


Crane Grip

(mid offset or mid asymmetric) A lower position of the elbow can be kept, during the cutting.
